Question: How do I post a banner to my website from the FGS fundraiser?

Answer: It's easy to place your tracked banner on your website. After you have successfully signed up at the fundraiser affiliate site and have been selected, you will be able to log in and choose from several banner design styles and sizes. Once you have chosen the banner that will work best with your site, simply cut and paste the full html that appears below the banner, and place it anywhere on your website.


Question: How do I know if the banner is set up?

Answer: When you place the HTML code for the banner you choose successfully into your website, view the page live and click the link. If the link goes to the FGS fundraiser site, your orders are being tracked for the fundraiser.


Question: When does my society get funds earned from the FGS fundraiser?

Answer: You will receive $6 for each subscription paid for from your tracked banner ad. In addition, $6 more will be sent to FGS in your name to help all genealogical societies in the country.


Question: How can I advertise the program to other Genealogical Societies to help them raise funds as well?

Answer: You can email friends and fellow genealogy webmasters with the www.HelpFGS.org web address to help other societies raise funds as well!

Question: How does the money get shared with the Federal Federation of Genealogical Societies and the local Societies it supports?

Answer: Of the total money raised per paid subscription, $6 will go directly to the webmaster who posted the fundraiser banner for assistance with his or her genealogy society, $6 more will be sent to FGS in your name to help all genealogical societies in the country.


Question: What do I do if my banner ad is not showing up on my website?

Answer: It's easiest to go back to the affiliate website, and copy and paste the pre-formatted code provided into your website than it is to troubleshoot if the html code has been changed. The code at the affiliate site has been checked for accuracy and should not cause any problems on a site using standard HTML or CSS. If you need site help, please contact FGSinfo@helpfgs.org.
