Dear officer of an FGS member society:
The Federation of Genealogical Societies is excited to announce an important new partnership with Family Tree Magazine that supports member societies around the country --including your society!
When you choose to participate in this partnership program, our collective organizations will receive significant financial benefit --generating a new source of fundraising where everybody wins: your society and members, and our Federation as well. It's a win-win proposition for us all.
Working with Family Tree Magazine, we have arranged to receive a significant portion of all proceeds generated by a special subscription program exclusively for FGS member societies. When an individual society member purchases a new subscription to our partner magazine, the publisher will donate half of the $24 subscription fee -$6 will go directly to your organization and the other $6 to FGS. It's an easy way to raise the much-needed funds for your society's activities and a great membership beneŞt: Your members can support genealogical organizations by purchasing a magazine full of informative how-to articles, genealogy news and features they'll enjoy.
Participating is easy: Just go to HelpFGS.org to sign up your society and select a Web banner to post on your Web site. Members simply click on the Web banner to go to a special order page that ensures your society gets credit for the order. You'll receive a check for your society's proceeds every six months. To address questions you or your members may have about the program, we have set up a special FAQ at HelpFGS.org.
We hope you'll take full advantage of this easy fundraising opportunity by actively promoting the program to your members. Make announcements -at your meetings, in your conferences or seminars, and through your society publications. For your convenience, several resources are available to help you get the word out, including a news article you can publish in your print or electronic newsletter and a flier to hand out at events. You may want to designate a point person to take charge of efforts to encourage participation.
The more members who participate, the more your organization will benefit. Don't miss this chance to strengthen your society --and our entire genealogical community.
Sincerely,
Wendy Elliot & Jana Broglin
